Random: What is the difference?

From my wonderful observation (you don't even need to actually) during my stay here in Melbourne I've noticed>>>>>

Australians tend to carry bags of the following brands:
Caribee
Billabong
Crumpler

and they drive:
Holdens
Fords
Not much else.....

then we come to the Asians:
Gucci
Louis Vuitton
Burberry

and they drive:
BMWs
Mercedes-Benz(s)
and whatever that costs above AUD $ 50,000.....
